Lil Wayne will be putting out a Rock album this year. Some real Hip-Hop fans are shaky about it because of how Wayne’s style will fit that particular music genre. How will the fans receive an entire Rock N Roll album? This week Lil Wayne dropped a sample of what the new album entitled ReBirth will eventually sound like. The track is titled “Prom Queen”.

The Cash Money style has been strictly flossin, bling bling, and excessive I’m Rich Bitch talk! Rock N Roll has always been storys of Love, Sex, Drugs, and suicide. Their music has it lows, climax, and ending which makes it outstanding when your an music fan. From a creative point of view I give Prom Queen 5 Mics, because its different for an Rapper with his word play and subject matter. The song makes me think of when OutKast dropped the Stankonia album. People didn’t know what to expect when Andre 3000 was singing on the single Ms. Jackson and the total different sound they had on that album, Stankonia pushed the envelope for hip hop in the 2000s. The Stankonia album put Oukast on another level and brought them a different audience. This same thing could happen to Lil Wayne and The Rebirth could be that album.

Prom Queen sounds like your regular Rock song has the same sounding drum pattern and vibe. For some reason I felt like I have already heard someone sing the hook or subject before on a record already. But besides that its a great song and I enjoy listening to it. I can hear this song over and over and still like it, it’s an hot record. I felt the same way with Lollipop and that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.This song will put Lil Wayne in another category as of selling records, and putting himself in the history books when he drops the album.
